The Locomotive - One Big Thing
Chamblee's Independence Day Celebration
Celebrate America's 250th birthday right here in Chamblee! Join your neighbors on Saturday, July 4, at Chamblee City Hall for one of the city's biggest events of the year. Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m., featuring live music from Robin Thicke, a Kids Zone, food and beverages for purchase, and a spectacular fireworks show at 9:15 p.m.
To make getting there easier, take the free shuttle from Chamblee Middle School or ride MARTA. Uber is also offering a $5 discount for trips to and from Chamblee's Rideshare Park using the city's voucher. If you plan to drive, be aware that several roads around City Hall will be closed throughout the day, so plan ahead.
Remember: outside alcohol, consumer fireworks, sparklers, tents, and motorized vehicles are not permitted. Lawn chairs, blankets, bottled water, and coolers under 30 quarts are welcome.
I hope to see you there as we celebrate our community and our country's 250th birthday!

Citywide Stormwater System Survey & Assessment
Chamblee’s Stormwater Division has engaged a consulting team from Lowe Engineers, with a subconsultant, Atlas, to conduct a Citywide stormwater system survey and assessment. Field work is scheduled to begin in February 2026 and continue through October 2026.
Residents can expect to see field crews out with survey equipment, locating and documenting stormwater assets, such as inlets, manholes, and pipes, in the public right-of-way and from the street to the nearest outfall or stream. They will occasionally need to access private property for this purpose and will have identification.
Regular updates regarding the location of survey crews will be provided via social media. Questions can be directed to the Stormwater Division at stormwater@chambleega.gov.
