The Locomotive - One Big Thing:
Desden Park Grand Reopening
December 13, 2025, was a monumental day for the City of Chamblee as we officially reopened Dresden Park following an 18-month renovation. After years of planning and investment, residents, elected officials, staff, and partners came together to celebrate the transformation of this beloved community space.
The newly renovated park features modern amenities for all ages, including upgraded playgrounds, athletic fields, walking trails, a dog park, improved lighting and parking, and a new community building designed to host programs, meetings, and events. The project also reflects our commitment to sustainability, public art, and creating welcoming spaces that foster community engagement and bring neighbors together.
I wasn’t able to attend due to my nephew’s college graduation, but I want to thank everyone who played a role in making this project possible, and the residents who joined us to celebrate. Dresden Park is once again open and ready to serve as a vibrant gathering place for our community.
As we continue enhancing your experience with upgraded park features, park hours will be temporarily limited over the coming weeks.
Adjusted Hours
Saturday, December 13: 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Sunday, December 14 through Sunday, December 21: 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make these important improvements to keep our parks bright, safe, and welcoming for all.
