Below is my recap of the latest Council Meeting with my thoughts, which don't represent the Mayor or the rest of the Council.

You can find the agenda and video here: https://chambleega.new.swagit.com/videos/312992

  • Lifeline Animal Project showcased Coco Melon, who is up for adoption at their facility. He is a 7-year-old handsome boy with beautiful silver eyes. He is sweet, easygoing, gentle, and constantly wagging his tail. You'd never know this friendly, loveable pup has a surprising past. He was shot at and had a scar from a bullet wound. He has fully healed at LifeLine Animal Project and is looking for someone to give him the love he deserves. The three dogs that have been showcased have been adopted. Let's make it 4 for 4!

  • Council voted to DEFER the resolution to abandon the right-of-way on Beverly Drive, Reeves Street, and Lu Juan Drive to DeKalb County until the September Regular City Council Meeting. This is disappointing but necessary due to a legal issue.

  • Wakeman Chiropractor - APPROVAL of some variance and waiver requests with conditions for and denial of a variance and waiver request recommended by staff with a friendly amendment on design flexibility approved by the Planning and Development Director.

  • APPROVED. This is the only Translation Station building, and the owner submitted plans to extend the parking lot to accommodate a new bookstore and a food and beverage establishment.

  • APPROVAL of the variance and waiver requests with conditions recommended by staff for the Toll Brothers site at Parsons Drive.

  • APPROVAL of variance requests with conditions recommended by staff and a friendly amendment by Council for 3300 Burk Drive.

  • 1888 Keswick WITHDREW their application for a pergola addition.
