August 13: City Council Public Hearing & Work Session
The Chamblee City Council will meet Thursday, August 13, at 6:00 p.m. for our monthly Public Hearing and Work Session. Council will hear six zoning cases covering several parts of the city, including a proposed Panaderia y Antojitos Tierra Maya at 4997 Buford Highway, streetscape requirements at Brookhaven Family Dentistry on North Peachtree Road, residential deck and fence variances, a dumpster enclosure at Iglesia De Dios Pentecostal, and streetscape improvements at the Woodruff Arts Center facility on Peachtree Road.
We'll also discuss a parking and maintenance agreement on Pierce Drive, filling a vacant seat on the Public Arts Commission, and a proposed new mural at Wild Aster Books. The mural would be created by artist Dusty Cramer with up to $5,000 in matching funding from the City's Public Arts Commission mural program.
Finally, I'll be bringing forward a discussion on micromobility safety as we continue looking at how Chamblee can safely accommodate e-bikes, scooters, and other forms of micromobility throughout the city. The meeting is open to the public at Chamblee City Hall.

Chamblee received a recognition award last Friday from the Atlanta International Night Market at their 10th Anniversary Appreciation Gala. The City was recognized for its years of service and support hosting the Atlanta International Night Market in Downtown Chamblee. Our Cultural Affairs Coordinator Joshua Duarte and District 3 Councilmember Paul Stovall accepted the award on behalf of the City.
Summer Concert Series: Boy Band Review
What a great way to close out our Summer Concert Series!
Thank you to everyone who came out to Chamblee City Hall for our final concert of the summer featuring Boy Band Review. It was great to see so many neighbors, families, and friends enjoying another evening together in Chamblee.
A special thank you to our City staff for all the hard work that goes into making these concerts happen. From months of planning and coordination to setup, public safety, logistics, cleanup, and everything in between, these events take a tremendous team effort.
Thank you for giving our community another great summer of music and memories. I’m already looking forward to what we have planned next!

Chamblee Introduces Curb-Side Composting
The City of Chamblee is partnering with CompostNow to bring curbside composting to all residents starting this October! For just $19 per month (plus a one-time $19 startup fee), you can divert food scraps from the landfill and turn them into nutrient-rich compost.
Why Compost?
Over 50% of what ends up in landfills is organic material that could be composted. In a landfill, that organic waste generates methane, a greenhouse gas 84 times more potent than CO₂. Composting diverts those materials and transforms them into finished compost instead.
When finished compost is added to local soil, it sequesters carbon, improves water retention, reduces the need for chemical fertilizers, and improves the nutrient value of our food.
When we build local compost systems for cycling nutrients back into the soil, we improve the climate resiliency of the community and create equitable opportunities for our local growers who strengthen our food supply chains and provide access to fresh, healthy food.

Perimeter Park S Closure
Chamblee Public Works began a Stormwater Improvement Project on Perimeter Park S on Monday, August 3, 2026, to repair a failed 60-inch pipe under the road and daycare parking lot and perform maintenance to the upstream stormwater basin and infrastructure. A road closure is in effect at 4100 Perimeter Park S for up to six weeks. All driveways to businesses and homes on Perimeter Park S will be accessible, as only the section of road at the project area will be closed.

Citywide Stormwater System Survey & Assessment
Chamblee’s Stormwater Division has engaged a consulting team from Lowe Engineers and its subconsultant, Atlas, to conduct a Citywide stormwater system survey and assessment. Fieldwork began in February 2026 and is expected to continue through October 2026.
Residents can expect to see field crews out with survey equipment, locating and documenting stormwater assets, such as inlets, manholes, and pipes, in the public right-of-way and from the street to the nearest outfall or stream. Crews may occasionally need to access private property for this purpose and will carry identification.
Regular updates regarding the location of survey crews will be provided via social media. Questions can be directed to the Stormwater Division at stormwater@chambleega.gov.

The City of Chamblee invites residents and community partners to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for its newest green space, Fish Bolt Park. Located along the popular Chamblee Rail Trail, Fish Bolt Park will create green space and trails with water features to enhance Chamblee’s stormwater management.
