Safe Streets for All: Safety Action Plan Chamblee’s Public Works Department is launching a transportation Safety Action Plan, which will aim to reduce fatalities and serious injuries on our roadways by fostering a proactive, data-driven, and inclusive approach to transportation safety.

Chamblee was awarded a grant as part of the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program, which funds initiatives to prevent roadway deaths and serious injuries. The Chamblee Safety Action Plan will analyze crash data, assess roadway risks, and gather stakeholder and public input to identify transportation safety issues and develop specific, implementable projects and strategies to advance safe travel for all users of Chamblee’s transportation network.

We want to hear from you!

Where do you feel unsafe traveling around our city? What safety improvements do you think are needed? Visit our interactive website and learn more about the project, take a brief survey, leave feedback on an interactive map, and stay up-to-date on the Safety Action Plan.

The Month of May

May is Myositis Awareness Month in the City of Chamblee.

Myositis is a group of rare autoimmune diseases that cause inflammation and weakness in the muscles. Myositis is difficult to diagnose, and those who suffer from it experience reduced quality of life, especially since a cure hasn’t been found. This cause is near and dear to Chamblee resident Rich DeAugustinis, whose father has battled this disease for several years.

Myositis Awareness Month is organized in May by The Myositis Association. Join the City of Chamblee as we come together to learn more about all forms of Myositis and its symptoms and support the families in our community who will benefit from greater awareness of these rare diseases.
