The Locomotive - One Big Thing

Winter Storm Enzo

It feels like Groundhog Day! Please stay safe and warm as road conditions have quickly deteriorated. Due to the weather, we’ve had to cancel the City Council meeting and are working on scheduling a new date. Additionally, the Clairmont Bridge has been closed again for safety reasons. The City will open later on Wednesday, January 22, to allow the roads more time to dry.

Left the Station - This Past Week's Events:

January 16: City Council Regular Meeting

I will write a recap on this meeting and the Work Session when we hold it, which will hopefully be next week.

January 20: MLK Day

Yesterday, we honored the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a visionary leader who dedicated his life to justice, equality, and the pursuit of a more perfect union. His dream of a nation where everyone was judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin, continues to inspire us all.

Dr. King's message reminded us that progress required courage, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to standing up for what was right. As we reflected on his legacy, we were reminded of the importance of building a future where opportunity, dignity, and freedom are truly available to all.

May his work and sacrifices continue to inspire us to strive for a community united in love, justice, and equality. Thank you to everyone who celebrated and reflected on this important day. Together, we will keep Dr. King's dream alive.
