Hey everyone! From now on, I will write weekly recaps of all the events happening in Chamblee to help keep everyone in the know. Additionally, I'll showcase the upcoming events at the end of this post.

Monday: I had coffee with Barrett Madrigal to discuss his Discover Chamblee Advisory Committee appointment. I currently sit on the committee, and we discussed how he could be effective during his tenure. Thanks for taking the time to chat!
Wednesday: Three events were scheduled for the day. The Discovery Chamblee Advisory Committee was scheduled for noon but was postponed due to a lack of quorum.
At 6 PM, we had the final hearing on maintaining the millage rate. The council passed maintaining the rate at 6.25 mils, which has been static for the last five years.
At 7 PM, Councilmember Stovall and I attended the Chamblee PD Citizen Advisory Committee at the Arrow Creek Community Room. A panel of police officers reviewed the last month in Public Safety and answered any questions from the attendees. I highly recommend all residents attend the next meeting in August; it is highly educational.
Thursday: Chamblee hosted the latest 3rdSpot event at City Hall, where fans of Futbol got together to watch the USA vs. Panama COPA match. Food and beer trucks were on hand to watch the game on the big screen. We're grateful to all who came out and made the event a success! I couldn't make it because I went to the game to cheer on the USA!

Saturday: I attended the Amigos de La Comunidad Back to School Event. "Amigos" is a non-profit that serves the Latino Community in Chamblee. We often partner with them for events to help our outreach into that community. They gave away nearly 350 bookbags for the new school year, significantly impacting our community's students!
